Law Society Council meeting – Westport – 24th September 2021

Dear Colleagues,

Please see below email from James Cahill, President of the Law Society. All members are invited to attend the Law Society Council meeting sitting in Westport on the 24th September 2021. Details are below.

Kind regards,

John Martin

Dear John,

Due to the partial lifting of Covid19 restrictions, the Law Society is going ahead with the away meeting of Council to be held in Westport on Friday the 24th September at 11am in the Town Hall, Westport.  The Town Hall has seating for 130 people.  Lunch will be available on a first come first served basis to attendees at the Castlecourt and the Plaza Hotels on Castlebar Street, Westport.  It is within easy walking distance of the Town Hall.

After lunch a free in person CPD will be given by the members of the Society’s Task Force who have recently published precedents and guidelines on compliance with Section 150 of the LSRA 2015.  Then there will be a boat tour of part of Clew Bay which will end at the Mayo Sailing Club, all going well at around 6pm.  Members and their partners are invited to a music session and buffet meal in the Sailing Club.

The annual Calcutta Run event, one of the Law Society’s charities, continues for the entire week and the Greenway out of Westport will provide us with a unique opportunity to participate.  Bicycles are readily available for those who would like to cycle.

Could you please circulate this email and encourage your colleagues to come to Westport on Friday morning for the 11am meeting. If they would like to attend they can register with Gayle Ralph by email g.ralph@lawsociety.ie

The attached document contains further details.

Yours sincerely,

JAMES CAHILL
