Preparation of support panel

Dear Colleagues

Firstly I would like to thank everyone for their very positive feedback on our proposal to create our own local support panel. We have had over 50 colleagues so far who have volunteered to be entered on to the panel.

The purpose of this panel is to provide confidential voluntary support to colleagues who are experiencing difficulties, be it difficulties with a problem file/client, difficulties with the Law Society or Disciplinary Tribunal, or just simply the need to be listened to. The full details of the panel will be posted on our website www.gsba.ie and will be posted on our notice board in the Bar Room in Galway Courthouse.

In order for us to put together a comprehensive panel, we would appreciate if everyone who wishes to go on the panel (including those who have already expressed their interest) would email either myself at jamesseymour@berwick.ie or committee member Louisa McKeon  at louisa@rhatigansolicitors.ie with the following information:

  1. direct contact details (mobile number or preferred means of contact)
  2. Confirmation of whether you wish to provide advice and/or representation
  3. Areas of expertise which you are prepared to assist on
  4. chestnut file service – where you are prepared to review a file for a colleague to progress the file
  5. confirmation that you are happy to have your name and contact details listed on our website and on bar room notice board

Thank you again for your kind support

Kind regards

James Seymour
