NUIG Law Students available for work/internship

Dear Colleagues

As a result of a number of our colleagues making contact with the GSBA seeking part-time/full time/temporary employees and /or trainees, I entered in to discussions with the NUIG Law Society to see how the society and the GSBA could benefit from developing an arrangement whereby law students could obtain invaluable experience and perhaps a remunerative post and the GSBA could assist it’s members who are seeking employees, whether short term or otherwise.

I am please to confirm that these discussions have resulted in the following students being available:

111 students available for a summer internship.
55 students available for a Christmas internship.
5 students are seeking an Easter internship.
60 students are available for weekend work commencing immediately.
130 students are available for varying days during the week.

I would be obliged to hear from any colleagues who wish to engage a law student and I will put them in touch the NUIG Law Society who will organise for a selection of students to be submitted to that colleague for his/her perusal. Terms of employment, remuneration, etc will be a matter for the student and the solicitor.

I would ask everyone to support this initiative as the University is a great resource and is right on our doorstep and I can categorically state from my interaction with the NUIG Law Society, that the standard of candidate is very high. I would like to thank Jessica Richter and Pauric O’Connor of the NUIG Law Society for their excellent work in organising candidates.

Regards
