Please see message below from Mr Brian Doherty of the LSRA below. I would invite any member who wishes to make any submissions or observations to froward same to Mr Doherty at the following address firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks again for our recent meeting in Galway. It was great to meet with your committee and to hear their views on the LSRA.
As you know I am keen to encourage engagement with lawyers outside of Dublin to ensure that their views are considered in the work undertaken by the LSRA.
I am particularly keen to ensure that the views of solicitors firms outside of Dublin are fed into the ongoing research of the LSRA into the education and training of legal practitioners.
I mentioned at the meeting that we’d be happy to receive feedback or submissions from any of your members and can also arrange for them to speak to the researchers directly if they wished.
Another avenue open to your members is the completion of a questionnaire which has been prepared by our consultants Hook Tangaza.
This is a survey aimed at training principals and law firms employing recently qualified Irish solicitors (up to one year of post-qualification experience). The objective of the survey is to find out what they think of the content, structure and system of solicitor training and whether it reflects the needs of the firm.
The link to the survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/localbarasson
I would be very much obliged if you could circulate the link to your members on behalf of the LSRA as it would assist us in getting a more rounded and complete picture of attitudes towards training.
If you need any further information or if I can assist in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.
