LSRA Public Consultation on Education and Training

Dear all,

Please see notice from the Legal Services Regulatory Authority below for your attention. I would invite our members to forward any submissions to the LSRA using the details provided below.

As you may be aware the LSRA is required under section 34 of the Legal Services Regulation Act, 2015 to conduct a public consultation exercise and to prepare and furnish a report to the Minister in relation to the education and training arrangements in the State for legal practitioners.

The consultation notice has been circulated to a number of key stakeholder and relevant organisations. The LSRA is particularly keen to hear the views of members of the legal profession on the education and training of legal practitioners. The consultation notice can be found on our website here.

The LSRA would be grateful to receive any views that you and/or your association may have on the topic of legal education and training.

The Chief Executive of the LSRA, Brian Doherty, is also keen to make contact with and to commence engagement with the Solicitor Bar Associations across the country as we continue to roll out the remaining functions of the LSRA under the 2015 Act.

Submissions can be made by e-mail to or by Post to
