Please see information attached regarding the charity, i4L, that was established by Galway native, Maura Moran.
The charity was set up by Ms Moran a community nurse living in Headford who many years ago realised that children were dying due to lack of childhood vaccinations. This was her first project and it has saved many lives. She enlisted and has been offered the help of many Irish Health professionals and indeed people from many other backgrounds. She has now progressed to feeding programs for severely and moderately malnourished children. Please see letter from Maura Moran explaining in greater detail the modus operandi of the organisation.
The University of Zambia were so impressed with her work that they now have an agreement with i4L to provide internships for their dietetic students and training for their qualified students.
As with all such charities Maura relies on the goodwill of Irish people and indeed some foundations to fund the vaccination and feeding programs.
She has organised a Christmas concert in the Townhall for Sunday the 8 December, 2019 at 19:00 and I would encourage all colleagues to attend and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere and support i4L. There is also a free Children’s concert earlier in the day from 11:00 – 13:00 which children will really enjoy. Please see posters fro the concerts attached.
